Answers:
- b. Danny Elfman. The composer wrote the iconic songs for “The Nightmare Before Christmas” before there was a script to go off of. He wrote them based on bits and pieces of the story told to him by Tim Burton. Elfman also sang all of Skellington’s parts in the film and provided the voices of Barrel and the Clown with the Tear-Away Face.
- c. Brian Henson. It was the first Muppet movie not directed by Jim Henson who died of pneumonia in 1990. Henson’s 29 year old son Brian stepped in as director while Steve Whitmire took over as the voice of Kermit the Frog.
- a. 1239. After Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) and his son Charlie (Eric Lloyd) finish their first trip around the world an elf enters the code “1239” into a keypad opening a doorway to the North Pole. The code is in reference to December 1939 (or 12/39) when Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was created.
- d. Turbo Man. Howard Langston (Arnold Schwarzenegger) battles with Myron Larabee (Sinbad) as they both search for a Turbo Man action figure on Christmas Eve. To commemorate the movie, Tiger Electronics released a 13.5-inch Turbo Man figure in toy stores the same year.
- c. The Wet Bandits. When Kevin McCallister (McCauley Culkin) is left home alone the local Wet Bandits plan on robbing his supposed-to-be-empty house and he booby traps his home to catch them. The Wet Bandits (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) are named for their signature move of flooding the houses they steal from, and for driving a plumbing van.
- d. He was pushed during a robbery. After witnessing the incident on Christmas Day, lonely ticket taker Lucy (Sandra Bullock) jumps onto the tracks and saves Peter. At the hospital doctors report Peter is in a coma and his family mistakenly assumes Lucy is his fiancé.
